What if the ID Validation Fails?

What if the ID Validation Fails?

How it works:

  • Each Signer is asked a series of 6 Questions. Four of the six questions must be answered correctly.

  • If 3 or more questions are answered incorrectly, then a second set of 3 additional questions is presented to the signer.

  • Of these 3 questions, the signer must get all three of the additional questions correct.

If the signer fails the id validation completely, the below screen is displayed and the sender is notified via email about the failure. This notification email includes a link to the item in DocuSign.

Once you have clicked on the link and signed into DocuSign, you can clone and resend the item to the client (see screenshot below). The signer will receive another email with a new link, allowing them to try the validation process again.

If the signer fails ID Validation four times, the validation si held for 7 days and the client will not be able their id for 7 days.
