Getting Data to Populate the Account Wizard
OPTION 1: Account Title (Figure 2 – Item 3)
Load Registration Level within the Account Wizard’s Account Title field
The best practice for working with an existing, approved registration is to load them from the contact card. However, you can also load information from within the wizard using the Account Title field.
If you begin typing in the Account Title field, a list of matching account titles will show in the drop down. If you have given accounts good account titles, it will be easy to select the correct account. If not, you may find it difficult to choose the correct one. Once selected, all the associated data will be loaded into the account wizard pages: account owners, beneficiaries, financials, investment profile, etc.
Best Practice
Make your account titles count. You might need them again. Be thoughtful as you create new account titles, you’ll be glad when you need to use them again. The more specific that you can be, the easier it will be to identify and choose the right one when you are presented with multiple account titles for each client. Here are a few samples:
Examples of Good Titles | Bad Title | Why? |
Joseph Z. Smith, Individual | Joe Smith |
|
Joseph Z. Smith, IRA | Smith IRA |
|
Joseph Z. & Julia P. Smith Trust, Dtd 7/1/2013 | Smith Trust |

OPTION 2: Load Existing Contact (Figure 3)
This function loads the information into the account wizard for an individual contact, not for the account registration. This will load the contact’s details.
This is available on any of the account holder screens, the entity screen and the beneficiary screen.
