Searching Contacts

The contact manager provides you with several ways to search for your contacts.

  1. View: Toggle between the different client types. Only one can be selected at a time.
  2. Results: If other users have shared their contacts with you, you will see their name listed in the Results drop down menu. Click on the down arrow to expand the menu. This will display a list of users that have shared their contacts with you. Next, select their name from the drop down menu. You will now be able to see that person's contacts.
  3. Active Only: this box is checked by default to show only active clients. To view inactive clients, uncheck the box.
  4. Page Size: The page size menu allows you to set how many contacts show on the main contact manager page. Once you have set this, the system will remember your preferred page size session after session.
  5. Search: Simply click in the search box, type in your search criteria and hit enter. This will limit the list of contacts shown in the contact grid to only those that meet your criteria. If you wish to search your prospects, households or companies instead of your contacts, first choose that category of contacts by clicking on the radio button next to the name of the category, and then enter your criteria. You can clear your search results by highlighting the search information, deleting it and then hit enter or search.
  6. Alpha bar: You will find this at the bottom of your list of clients. By clicking on any letter of the alphabet, you can limit your contact list to just the items that start with that letter. For example, clicking on "C" displays only the contact listings whose last name starts with "C". To show all of your clients, click on All.
  7. Header: The header is displayed at the top of the contact grid. You can sort your contacts by clicking on any of the column names.
  8. Total:  This displays the total number of contacts you have. It will change if you filter your list using the alpha bar or the search feature.
